My Story

My name is Michelle Graff and I am a full time potter living and making pots in Santa Cruz, CA. I make functional pottery in my home studio surrounded by my lovely garden. My pottery is inspired by the landscape around Santa Cruz, my family’s heritage and the dance of color. Starting my own studio is a dream come true as a craftsperson and a mom. I look forward to all the different projects and creations that will be coming from Salty Barn. I am sure there will not be a dull moment.

My goal for my work is to bring joy to someone's daily rituals when they see or hold one of my creations. 

When I am not busy working in my studio, working on my VW bus or gardening away, I am doing my best to keep up with my kids and dog.
